Right now there are about 20 kids from the Teshuva enjoying Spirit Song at King's Island. Unfortunately, Nate and I weren't able to attend with the kids for the 3 day event, but I did get to go with them yesterday and hang out for the day. And wow, it was great!
I haven't ridden roller coasters in probably 10 years, but I still love them! I was in a group with Coby and 8 other students and we walked the park and enjoyed the great rides together. I saw kids ride roller coasters for the first time, and discover their love for them as well :) I got to see kids hang out together and have appropriate, healthy relationships and friendships. I was completely blessed by the day.
The concerts started at around 4pm, with a couple of bands I hadn't heard of first - Sestor and KJ52. Then Hawk Nelson really started the excitement. I knew that I had to leave early so I could get home and be with Isaiah and Nate, but I just couldn't leave until David Crowder Band was done. I mean, how could I be so close to seeing Crowder and not stay?
It was well worth the wait and somewhat late night. The band was awesome and the crowd was definitely participating in worship. I wish that I could have stayed for Skillet and Switchfoot, but maybe next year...
So, if you have a chance to go to Spirit Song....go!
